Since the Real Estate Training College (RETC) commenced in 1999 we have trained thousands of people and have assisted them to enter the real estate sector in careers including administration, personal assistant, property management, sales, principals of an agency, business broking, commercial real estate and leasing.
Our timetable, rolling intake, current industry trainers, high levels of customer service and flexibility are what make us different. Our graduating students complete their courses excited to be embarking on their new careers with a network of friends and mentors to support their early career progress.
We have recently launched a free Employment Opportunities Website so potential employers can post their latest vacancies - this is then added onto our Facebook page and also onto the RETC noticeboard. Employers are regularly posting job vacancies and students, both past and present, are getting a lot of great opportunities from this.
We also hold fortnightly Employment sessions at the RETC for current and past students. These initiatives support the career opportunities for our students as well as further developing our ongoing working partnership with the industry. However, our involvement with you does not stop when you walk out with your Certificate or Diploma in hand. We will continue to be here for you in whatever capacity you need during your career in real estate.
Our training venue is at 31 Franklin Street is spacious, light and has excellent acoustics. Public transport and parking is very convenient and accessible and the local Central Market is a great place to lunch.
We utilise professional experts to support learning in areas such as advertising, media, RP Data, conveyancing, finance and a variety of leading real estate agents and principals as guest speakers. You have every chance of meeting your next employer through our college program.

GREG HANSEN – DIRECTOR
In 1999 I began the RETC to fill a gap in the training options available to people wanting world class and flexible real estate training.
With a background in psychology, real estate and adult education, I am perfectly positioned to provide you with a solid foundation for your real estate career. I have built a team of highly professional industry based support staff and lecturers to ensure that our courses remain current and have a strong link to employment opportunities for our students. I have an in-depth knowledge of government agencies which ensures the RETC can advise all of our students on potential grants and subsidies that they may be eligible for to financially support their training.
For over 25 years I have developed strong and professional relationships within the real estate sector. These relationships have been integral in the employment of many of our students into their first real estate job and the high industry profile that the RETC has established. Many of our students gain employment prior to finishing their real estate course.

JOHN MORRIS – TRAINING MANAGER
Living in the UK, I worked as an actor and also taught adults and children about acting techniques.
I moved from the UK to Australia in 2010. I decided very quickly that I wanted to be involved in Real Estate and studied for my Diploma of Property Services at the RETC.
I am an accredited trainer and have been involved in education for many years so I can identify with students needs and requirements. I am a registered Auctioneer and a Real estate sales person who has sold many properties. Through all my experiences I am able to give students relevant and up to date information and help and support them through their studies with the knowledge of very recent hands-on experience.
I truly understand the importance of education through role play, group and team work, and one-on-one mentorship. I honestly believe that the RETC offers the best real estate training and that there is no better place to get this kind of training in SA.
SOPHIE HANSEN – SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER
I joined the RETC in 2005. I have inherited an interest in real estate from an uncle who was a property developer and auctioneer and my dad Greg, who is the Director of the RETC.
I have completed my Certificate IV and Diploma of Property Services at the RETC so I am able to support and identify with our students on their learning journey.
I have loved learning about the real estate industry, meeting our students and enjoying their excitement as they start their new career path.
